How many cores are needed?

An 8 core server generally doesn't need more than a 2-CPU license or even a 1-CPU license. (The choice depends on how much of the processing is PHP and how much is LSWS/HTTP.) LSWS is that fast and lightweight. It'll handle all your connections on only a core or two, leaving the other cores untouched for PHP, etc.
