How to set up an Addon Domain

The addon domain function in cPanel allows you to host additional domains on your Nuagerie account. Each addon domain will appear to be a separate website to your visitors.

If you wish to host an additional domain on your Nuagerie account, you must first purchase the domain. You may do so through your Nuagerie Client Area:

  1. Log in to your Nuagerie Client Area

  2. Click on Domains.

  3. Click on Register a New Domain.

  4. Complete the secure form and click Continue.

IMPORTANT: When setting up an addon domain where Nuagerie is NOT your domain’s registrar, you must change the DNS settings for that domain to Nuagerie's DNS servers first and allow the domain to propagate (typically 12-24 hours) before adding the domain in your cPanel. Please see your Login Information email for the DNS servers to use.

To set up an addon domain:

  1. Log in to your Nuagerie Client Area

  2. Click on My cPanel and the domain name link, if you have more than one.

  3. From the Domains section, click on the Addon Domains icon.

  4. Enter the domain name you would like to add – no need to enter “www” before the domain.

  5. You can either hit the Tab key twice, or click the Password field to auto populate the Subdomain/FTP Username and Document Root fields.

  6. Enter a password for the addon domain; this is a new password, not your cPanel password.

  7. Click the Add Domain button.

NOTE: The three redirection settings are not necessary unless you want your addon domain to point somewhere else, for example, to another site or server.

The web files for an addon domain are located in a subfolder in your public_html folder, so you must upload your site to that folder in order to display your addon domain.

Email accounts for the addon domain can also be set up under the mail settings in cPanel. From the Mail section, click on the Email Accounts icon and set up your email address from there. You will be able to choose the addon domain from a pull-down menu in the setup screen.
