Nuagerie has completed a focused maintenance operation covering security fixes and supporting components of its managed hosting platform. The work included signed vendor updates, a LiteSpeed Web Server build update and checks that the affected components were operating correctly after activation.
Security advisories reviewed and addressed
The maintenance included fixes associated with CVE-2026-88815 in perl-DBI and CVE-2026-42784 in the cryptographic dependency used by rpm-sequoia. Both are classified as Important in the distribution advisories. The official perl-DBI advisory and rpm-sequoia advisory identify the fixes and affected packages.
These components support the broader operating environment rather than a single customer website. Maintaining them is part of keeping the platform’s software dependencies current. The reviewed operation also updated supporting PHP libraries and the Imunify realtime-scanner component.
From signed packages to running services
Before installation, the team checked the signatures of the candidate packages and the previous versions retained for recovery. The resulting package changes were compared with the prepared selection, and the database-interface component was checked for successful loading after its update.
LiteSpeed was updated through its native updater after the selected payload and build were reviewed. Configuration checks passed, and the running executable was checked against the newly installed build. This confirmed activation of the update, not simply its presence on disk.
Backup-service activation was also checked in the required startup order. Administrative access, PHP runtimes and the examined website responses were verified after the work. Comparisons of the checked website responses matched the previous baseline.
Focused maintenance for a dependable hosting environment
The daytime operation completed without a server reboot. The database and mail services retained their running processes, and the runtime checks found no outdated mapped components in the examined services.
This announcement concerns the fixes and components addressed in this maintenance. Other updates with different compatibility or activation requirements were handled separately. Applying a vendor fix is one part of platform care, alongside checking its activation and examining the services that depend on it.
For customers, the value of platform maintenance is that the underlying components receive attention alongside the services that depend on them. Website applications still need their own updates. Nuagerie can help clarify which part of a reported issue belongs to the hosting environment and which requires work by the application maintainer, keeping the next action and its owner clear.
If a software supplier sends you an advisory, share the product name, version and advisory link through the client area so support can relate it to your hosting service. For a business coordinating servers, workstations and several applications, our IT management services offer a starting point for defining maintenance responsibilities and a practical sequence of work.
