cPanel/WHM version 78 released to Current stage
cPanel/WHM version 78 has been officially released into the Current stage. This version comes with significant user experience and usability improvements. Version 78 will be part of the cPanel 2019 LTS (Long Term Support) version and is scheduled to be supported until March 2020. Here are some of the changes that were made.
Major changes
New Backup Destination
- WHM's Backup Configuration Interface will now allow hosting providers to save their backups to the new Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage destination.
Email Deliverability
- The cPanel Email Authentication interface has been replaced with the new Email Deliverability Interface, which highlights and helps fix common problems with email deliverability.
LiteSpeed and KernelCare Services
- Server owners can now purchase and manage LiteSpeed Web Server and KernelCare from the cPanel store, and even purchase these from inside the WHM interface.
Additional Features
- Faster Scanning with SpamAssassin - Apache SpamAssassin's performance has been improved. Now with up to 60% faster message scanning, SpamAssassin makes email delivery even better.
- MultiPHP Manager Interface Improvements - System administrators now have automatic PHP INI settings in the WHM interface as well as access to PHP-FPM Pool Options in the new System PHP-FPM Configuration tab.
- Email Accounts Interface Improvements - cPanel's Email Accounts interface has been refactored to improve its usability and appearance for standard and mobile displays.
- Quicker Installations - We are increasing the maximum number of download processes from one to four during installation, which provides drastically faster server installation times.
- New UAPI Functions - A ton of new UAPI calls have been added, including Backup::fullbackup_to_ftp, which allows users to create a full account backup, and upload it via FTP to a remote server.
- Dovecot Upgrade - The Dovecot service has been upgraded to version 2.3.3 in the new cPanel release.
