Imunify to be available with cPanel

  • 20 March 2019

In 2018, cPanel, with their long-term partner CloudLinux, began to offer Imunify360 as a featured security product. With cPanel & WHM version 82 or 84, the cPanel team has announced the full integration of ImunifyAV into all cPanel & WHM servers. ImunifyAV is a product created by CloudLinux and will offer all cPanel users the most effective malware detection solution on the market.

What is ImunifyAV?

ImunifyAV is an efficient suite of tools created to prevent compromises on sites hosted on your server and help relieve the repair work in case of a compromise.

Incorporating ImunifyAV gives cPanel & WHM the advantage of automated scans of hosted websites, with automated alerts for malware infection. If any site is discovered with malware, users of the free ImunifyAV will be alerted through the ImunifyAV control board in the Files tab. For users that upgrade to ImunifyAV+, the system can also send an email notice to the control panel's administrator email address. If any malware is found, ImunifyAV providers cPanel users the choice to either clean the infection themselves (with ImunifyAV provided guidelines) or upgrade to ImunifyAV+ to have the infection eliminated immediately by the software. In addition to ImunifyAV, hosting providers can also move to Imunify360, which is the only multi-layer proactive defense suite for web hosting, and is purchasable straight from your WHM interface.

Options for cPanel Partners

While the integration has not been finished, the cPanel team has defined a couple of objectives for the integration. cPanel hosting and license Partners might currently have arrangements with CloudLinux directly or may be using another malware scanning and removal tool. To respect that, cPanel partners will have the option to offer ImunifyAV to their clients. Using an opt-out system in their portal, Partners will have the ability to disable the automated installation of ImunifyAV and will be able to point the Call to Action to update to Imunify360 to their own shopping cart.
