Manage PHP with LiteSpeed and InterWorx

On a LiteSpeed installation integrated with InterWorx, verify the PHP version serving websites against the configuration LiteSpeed actually uses. A setting visible in a panel does not by itself establish which runtime executes the application.

Understand which tool manages PHP

InterWorx documents that PHP and extension management in this configuration belongs to LiteSpeed. The administrator must install the required LSPHP versions and configure the corresponding handlers; changing a version in SiteWorx does not automatically apply it to LiteSpeed.

Prepare a change

  1. Check the website’s requirements, necessary extensions and currently executing PHP version.
  2. Select a maintained version compatible with the operating system and application.
  3. Retain current settings and a recoverable backup.
  4. Use official repositories and procedures for that system. Do not mix packages intended for different distribution generations.
  5. Test the handler and website functions before extending the change.

Scheduled tasks may use another PHP executable. Verify them separately and remove public diagnostic files after use. Understand dependency failures; an option that skips broken packages is not proof of a successful installation.

These settings require server administration. For a managed service, ask our team to confirm the scope before changing the runtime.
