Understanding and using Imunify360 Proactive Defense

Imunify360 Proactive Defense analyzes PHP script behavior and can stop an execution identified as malicious. Availability and accessible settings depend on the hosting service, PHP environment and server configuration.

Check the setting for your account

  1. Open the affected service's control panel through your Client Area.
  2. Open Imunify360, then Proactive Defense if that section is available.
  3. Identify the active mode. Disabled turns this feature off; Log Only records detections; Kill Mode can stop the detected script.

If the section or setting is unavailable, ask our team to confirm the configuration applicable to your account. Software installation and server configuration changes are handled by the server administrator.

Review a detection

If a normal website action fails, record the page address, the time and time zone, and the steps needed to reproduce the problem. If Imunify360 shows a corresponding event, note its identifier or description, the affected file and the recorded action.

Review a detection before creating an exception. It may identify a threat or application behavior that needs investigation. Avoid disabling protection for the entire account to bypass one blocked action. Any justified exception should be limited to the relevant file and rule, then reviewed again after the software is corrected.

Maintain the rest of your website's protection

This feature complements CMS and extension updates, backups and access security. It does not guarantee that a compromise cannot occur, and its status alone does not establish that a website is clean.

To request an event review or a mode change, open a request through your Nuagerie Client Area. Include useful technical context without sending passwords or the contents of sensitive files.
