How to Update WHM/cPanel to the Latest Version from the Command Line

  • 0

Occasionally, WHM or cPanel might experience errors that can only be resolved by updating the software. To update the control panel from the command line, start by logging into your server by SSH as root.

Once you're connected, enter the following command:

/scripts/upcp

This will only update your WHM installation and will not affect your data. If your WHM installation is already up-to-date, you can still force an update, which will essentially cause WHM to be re-installed while still keeping all your configurations.

To force update WHM, run:

/scripts/upcp --force

No need to worry - your data will not be modified by the update.
