A LiteSpeed Web Server update can deliver security, compatibility and functional fixes. It changes server software and should be handled by the server’s administrator. On Nuagerie shared hosting, send our team your observations rather than attempting to modify the service.
Identify the correct component
LiteSpeed Web Server, its WHM integration and the LiteSpeed Cache WordPress plugin are separate components. Updating the WordPress plugin does not update the web server. Confirm the installed product: a LiteSpeed Web Server Enterprise procedure does not automatically apply to OpenLiteSpeed.
Record the full version, build number, control panel and behavior to address. A fix can change the build without changing the main version number. Check the official changelog and applicable security notices to select a target, rather than reusing an old version from a tutorial.
Prepare a change you can verify
- Check license conditions and compatibility with the operating system, cPanel, PHP handlers and integrations in use.
- Retain the current configuration and recoverable application and database backups, off the server where possible.
- Select a suitable maintenance period, arrange recovery access and define when to stop or restore.
- Record a baseline: representative pages, observed response times, recent errors and important website functions.
Restoration must account for data written since the backup. Reinstalling an older binary and restoring the entire machine are different recovery actions. Have a strategy approved for the incident and its security requirements.
Choose the appropriate channel and method
Check the target version, Stable or Edge channel and configured tracking against the LiteSpeed update documentation. A published release may not yet appear in the update interface.
Where the integration supports it, the administrator can use the panel’s version management. The official documentation also describes lsup.sh. Its -f option can select an Edge build and change Stable channel tracking; it is not simply a retry option. A specified version or downgrade therefore requires an explicit decision.
The WHM LiteSpeed plugin update has its own procedure. Confirm the component involved, then follow the vendor’s current instructions with the required access. Update tracking files should only be changed as part of documented troubleshooting.
Check the outcome
- Confirm the version and build actually running, then review operation messages and service logs.
- Test HTTPS, redirects, PHP pages, static files and the functions in use: sign-in, forms, shopping carts or APIs, as applicable.
- Check cache behavior for signed-in and signed-out visitors, along with the intended protections and integrations. A homepage delivered from cache does not validate the whole application.
- Compare errors and response times with the earlier observations, then monitor the service after the change.
An administration interface becoming unavailable may reflect a documented change. Read the release notes before re-enabling access or changing a protection.
Request focused assistance
If the download, license or service fails, retain the exact message, time and time zone. In your Nuagerie client area, identify the affected service, symptoms and recent changes without sending passwords or license keys.
