KernelCare

How to implement delayed updates

KernelCare’s delayed feed excludes patches released within the previous 24 hours. It does not guarantee installation exactly 24 hours after release: installation also depends on the next update check and patches available for the kernel.

On a server you administer, back up /etc/sysconfig/kcare/kcare.conf, then add or edit the PREFIX line in that file:

Plain text
PREFIX=24h

This is a configuration setting, not a command to run in the terminal. Avoid creating conflicting PREFIX entries.

Consult TuxCare’s delayed feed documentation before changing an existing policy. Delaying updates also postpones security fixes; have the server administrator approve this choice.
