Domain names: Your domain name. Your brand starts with its address.

An address for your website, email and services. Nuagerie helps you choose a domain, prepare a transfer and organize its DNS management and renewal.

Domains and DNS

Starting fresh or bringing an existing domain?

Your domain name, website hosting and email are separate services. Their settings need to work together, even when different providers manage them.

Choose and register

Start with your preferred name, its intended uses and the extensions you are considering. Availability and applicable conditions must be checked before registration is confirmed.

  • Primary name and useful alternatives
  • Extensions suited to the project
  • Up-to-date registrant details

Prepare a transfer

Identify the current provider, account access and services connected to the domain. Transferring the registration is planned separately from moving a website or email accounts.

  • Transfer eligibility checks
  • Required authorization and code, where applicable
  • Inventory of DNS records and services to keep

Connect services through DNS

DNS records direct your domain to the website, email and other services that depend on it. Plan changes around the settings those services actually use.

  • Website, subdomains and connected services
  • Records required for email
  • Checks after changes

Plan for renewal

Keep a clear record of the expiry date, contact details and person responsible. Domain registration and renewal are included with all our web hosting plans. For other domains, terms and fees are confirmed case by case.

  • Expiry date and a named person responsible
  • Account access and contact details
  • Renewal conditions to check

Prepare your request

The right information before a change.

A domain can connect to several tools. A few details help establish what needs to change and what should stay in place.

  1. Describe what you need

Share the proposed or existing domain, your goal and any known deadlines. For an existing domain, include the current provider if you know it.

  2. Identify dependencies

List the website, email and connected services, along with the people authorized to make changes. Don’t email passwords or transfer codes; we’ll agree on a secure way to share them.

  3. Agree on the next steps

We clarify the necessary checks, the scope of the work and applicable terms with you before making a change.

Frequently asked questions

Domains, hosting and email: understanding the difference.

Does a domain name include a website and email accounts?

No. The domain is the address used to find your services. Website hosting and email accounts are separate services to select and configure around your needs.

Can I keep my website and email with their current provider?

Yes. A domain can point to services hosted elsewhere. Before a transfer or DNS change, check who provides the DNS zone, preserve the necessary records and confirm the terms of the services involved.

How can I find out whether my preferred name is available?

Tell us the name and extensions you are considering. Availability, registration conditions and pricing must be confirmed when you make the request; a preliminary discussion does not reserve the domain.

How long should I allow for a transfer?

Timing depends on the extension, domain status, authorizations and providers involved. We need to review these factors before proposing a schedule. A domain transfer alone does not move website content or email messages.

What should I do if my domain is close to expiring?

Check its status and your options promptly with the provider currently managing it. A transfer request does not replace checking renewal arrangements. If the domain has already expired, the available steps depend on its status and the applicable rules.
