Protect your passwords and account access

Your client area, hosting panel, email accounts and website administration may use different credentials. Protect each account with its own password and use the sign-in address intended for that service.

Create and protect your passwords

  • Use a long, unique password generated by a trusted password manager, or a long passphrase that is difficult to guess.
  • Do not reuse a password from another service, even with a small change.
  • Protect the password manager itself with a strong primary password and multi-factor authentication (MFA) when available. Keep its recovery information somewhere secure.
  • Enable MFA on services that support it, and, if recovery codes are provided, store them separately from your everyday device.
  • Never send passwords, recovery codes or private keys in an ordinary support message. Give collaborators their own limited access where the service allows it; our access delegation guide explains what to check.

The accepted length and characters depend on the specific service and its current form. Follow the requirements shown there; there is no single password limit that applies to every Nuagerie service.

Avoid fake sign-in pages

Open your usual sign-in address from a verified bookmark or the official website instead of an unexpected message. Check the complete domain name and stop if the browser reports a certificate problem. A familiar logo and an HTTPS address do not, by themselves, establish the sender’s identity. Do not give anyone a temporary code in response to a supposed support verification.

If a password reset does not work

  1. Confirm the service, sign-in URL and username with our account and credentials guide. Changing your client area password does not necessarily change a mailbox, WordPress or cPanel password.
  2. Check whether your password manager is filling an older value or a different account. Verify the keyboard layout and accidental spaces without exposing the password.
  3. Use the service’s recovery procedure. Avoid repeated attempts that may trigger access protection.
  4. If the problem continues, record the exact error and the time, then contact our team. A failed login does not by itself prove that an account was compromised.

For a specific change, see our cPanel password procedure or mailbox management guide. If you suspect unauthorized access, follow the first steps for a suspected compromise and tell Nuagerie promptly from a trusted device.

For help with a Nuagerie service, see our Support page. If you cannot sign in, see our Contact page; account access must be verified before recovery assistance can be provided.
